Jeffrey Millman’s lab has received its first NIH R01 funding for a project entitled “Studying the Role of the Microenvironment on Differentiation and Maturation of Beta Cells”.
Millman said, “We hope that by studying the local microenvironment of our stem cell-derived β cells, particularly introducing microenvironmental cues normally found in the islet, that we will improve our protocol to make stem cell-derived β cells.”
