Biography

Gargi was born and raised in eastern India. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India with a degree in Microbiology and master’s degree in Microbiology at the University of Kalyani, India. Dr. Basu completed her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India where her research focused on the role of metabolic risk factors on Alzheimer’s disease. She moved to USA with her family and began a post-doctorate at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow in the nutritional science division of internal medicine. She enjoys spending time with her budgies, reading and cooking.
