On October 25, Jennifer Powers Carson, PhD and other alumni of Jackson, Tennessee’s Union University were recognized for their outstanding contributions within their respective fields. As a class of 1988 alumni, Dr. Powers Carson received the Meritorious Alumni Award for Distinguished Achievement in Research / Sciences.
Dr. Powers Carson is an Associate Professor of Medicine within the Washington University School of Medicine’s Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research. She also serves as Director of the Core Lab for Clinical Studies, which supports clinical and basic research. Throughout her work she is studying biomarkers for diabetes progression and complications and is interested in developing mass spectrometry methods for peptides.
