Goldberg speaks at Lipid Metabolism and Atherosclerosis Seminar in Austria

Throughout September 24-30, Dr. Anne Carol Goldberg attended and spoke at the Open Medical Institute’s Lipid Metabolism and Atherosclerosis Seminar in Salzburg, Austria.

The seminar, hosting seven faculty members and thirty fellows from twenty-four countries around the world, is a global educational initiative by the American Austrian Foundation.

During the five-day seminar, Dr. Goldberg presented three lectures; the first was titled “Hypertriglyceridemia,” followed by “Managing Dyslipidemia in Women, Children, and Elderly,” and “Lifestyle Management of Dyslipidemia.” In addition, she held case discussions on familial hypercholesterolemia and other lipid problems.

This is the eighth time that I have taught during this course, which aims to help physicians in Eastern European, Central Asian, and African countries learn to manage lipid disorders.  It is exciting and rewarding to interact with these physicians who may not have access to this kind of educational program in their home countries.
