On Saturday, September 23, Amy Riek, MD received the #IStandWithHer Award for Resilience at the Women in Medicine Summit 2023, which took place in Chicago, Illinois. The annual Summit has a goal of inspiring and empowering attendees in both their personal and professional lives.
Each year, Women in Medicine gives out #IStandWithHer awards in the four categories of #Resilience (individual who has overcome barriers), #Trailblazer (early career woman who has championed women), #SheforShe (later career woman who has championed women), and #HeforShe #TheyforShe (non-woman who has championed women).
The #Resilience award recognizes Dr.Riek for continuously demonstrating strength, grit, tenacity, and grace when faced with difficult circumstances.
I am humbled and honored by this award, and I take so much inspiration with me from the amazing women I met at the Summit.
