Chang Gui has recently been named awardee of the 2022 David and Deborah Winston Fellowship in Diabetes Research. Chang is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. She is working in the Meyer Muscle Lab, led by Gretchen Meyer, PhD. Chang will use the award to investigate the crosstalk between skeletal muscle and adipose tissue in diabetes.
The David and Deborah Winston Fellowship in Diabetes Research was funded in 2012 for a graduate student doing research in laboratories of the Diabetes Diseases. The fellowship is now awarded annually from the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research to an outstanding graduate student who has shown great promise in diabetes research. It provides $5,000 in support to the activities of the recipient.
