Linda Repa-Eschen

LINDA REPA-ESCHEN PASSED AWAY ON JUNE 5, 2023. READ THE FORMAL OBITUARY.

As the former business director for the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Lipid Research, Repa-Eschen was a longtime dedicated employee of 40 years. She worked alongside Louis V. Avioli, MD, founder of the Division of Bone and Mineral Diseases at the School of Medicine, to help establish the Lifestyle & Health Corporation. The nonprofit entity highlighted challenges in health care.

After Avioli passed away in 1999, Repa-Eschen continued the work of the nonprofit for nearly 25 years, then transferring its assets to Washington University and the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Lipid Research. The entity has funded this lecture in Repa-Eschen’s name to highlight ethical and complex issues in medicine.

Repa-Eschen was not only known for her dynamic leadership and determination in the field, but for her holiday parties that she loved to throw for family and friends. During which, she would sport her excellent cooking skills. In addition, Repa-Eschen spent her free time gardening, birdwatching in her backyard and enjoying the companionship of her family cats.
