McGill publishes updated clinical guideline on diabetes mellitus care

In October, Janet B. McGill, MD, MA, FACP, and collaborators had their work published in “Endocrine Practice,” titled “American Association of Clinical Endocrinology Clinical Practice Guideline: Developing a Diabetes Mellitus Comprehensive Care Plan—2022 Update.” 

Their objective was “to provide updated and new evidence-based recommendations for the comprehensive care of persons with diabetes mellitus to clinicians, diabetes-care teams, other health care professionals and stakeholders, and individuals with diabetes and their caregivers.” 

McGill took place on a task force, consisting of medical experts and staff, selected by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. Task force members updated and assessed clinical questions and recommendations from the 2015 version of this guideline. 

This included “170 updated and new evidence-based clinical practice recommendations for the comprehensive care of persons with diabetes.” Providing evidence-based recommendations to assist with team-based clinical decision-making to improve the care of persons with diabetes mellitus.
